3 revenue officials suspended for failure to report arrival of students, labourers

JAMMU, Mar 24: Taking strong note of non-compliance of the government directions with regard to keeping an eye on the arrival of students, labourers and other people from outside the state or country, Tehsildar Drabshalla placed three revenue officials under suspension and attached them in the office of Naib Tehsildar, Lass till further orders. As per the details available with Early Times, Tehsildar Drabshalla Shoaib Latief vide order dated 23-3-2020 placed Ghulam Nabi, Lambardar Lass; Mohammad Akthar, Chowkidar Salana/Badhat and Ghulam Haider Lambardar Tatani under suspension after they failed to report about the arrival of students and labourers in these villages who had otherwise to report at nearest hospital or had to brought the matter into the notice of administration. As per the communication of Tehsildar Drabshalla addressed to Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kishtwar, the details of names and addresses of 19 identified persons who had reached in these villages from different states of India were forwarded. They managed to reach their homes without any screening managed. Tehsildar in his letter requested the CMO Kishtwar to depute a team in the area for medical examination and screening of these identified persons.
Speaking to Early Times, Tehsildar Drabshalla confirmed the suspension of the three revenue officials for their failure in performing the assigned duty adding that the inquiry has been initiated against them. He said all the vehicles arriving at Thathri, Kishtwar are being scrutinized properly adding that all precautionary measures are being taken and people are being identified. The official said that the team of doctors present at Kishtwar entry point is also examining the people arriving there. He said that some students and people are deliberately hiding their travel history and urged upon the people to cooperate with them by disclosing their travel history. He said that it is the responsibility of all the individuals to play their part in safeguarding the people from deadly Coronavirus epidemic.
