Early Times Report

Jammu, May 15: Amid a pandemic that has pushed entire world including India into crises, former Chief Minister and National Conference President Omar Abdullah is talking about luxury cars.
Amid lockdown, Omar has spoken about his desire to visit the museum of luxury cars abroad.
Omar who is known for his passion for the sedans, took to Twitter to vent out his feelings.
“Amazing drone piloting. I’ve never visited this museum but it looks like one heck of a place to visit for a #petrolhead,” Omar said while sharing about the museum of a leading car maker in Germany.
The luxury car maker in its tweet had said: “On Saturday, 9 May 2020, we will be opening our doors to the public again. But before we do that, we had a special little flying visitor Winking face Initially, visits are only possible from Friday to Sunday. See you in Stuttgart, Germany! #MBmuseum.”
Omar has long been known for making such tweets. From tweeting about Rajma Dal at Peeda on Srinagar Jammu highway to Gulab Jamun sold in Jammu, Omar as the then Chief Minister would tweet about many things.
His love for sedans has been so visible that even as Chief Minister he would prefer to personally drive his luxury vehicles.
But Omar’s tweet hasn’t gone down well in public and political circles.
“Is this the time to talk about luxury cars and its museum when people are struggling to find two square meals a day and many are stranded miles away from homes for weeks,” said a politician on the condition of anonymity.
The party leaders in NC are understood to have taken a serious note of the post. “When some of the leaders are still facing PSA since August 5, it doesn’t look nice for the party leader to post such irresponsible comments,” said a political observer.
Despite repeated attempts, Omar Abdullah couldn’t be contacted for comments.
