Pro-active approach of PCCF J&K, CCF Jammu bears fruit as 35 kanals of forest land retrieved

RAJOURI, May 17: The pro-active approach Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) Jammu & Kashmir and Chief Conservator Forests (CCF) Jammu have started to bore fruits in this border district since 35 kanals of forest encroached by an influential have been retrieved by the department. Sources said that the huge chunk of 35 kanals of forest land located at Makole village in Tehsil Sunderbani under compartment number 113/D has been freed from the encroachers. They said that stern instructions were issued to the encroachers by the authorities to desist from such practice failing which strict action would be taken against them. The locals while expressing happiness over the development said that the Department of Forest should go for a whole hearted exercise in this regard since hundreds of kanals of forest land has been encroached in the Sunderbani Tehsil. They have expressed hope that stern action would be taken against the violators of law. DFO Nowshera said that on the instructions of PCCF, J&K and CCF Jammu the department has vowed to take action against the violators of law. He said the department has taken the possession of encroached land adding that the guilty would not be spared. The department has in the meantime to mark the land as soon as lockdown ends.
