Early Times Reort

Kishtwar, May 17: A day after Early Times carried a story regarding encroachment of forest land in Kidru Singpura area of Chatroo Sub Division in Kishtwar District, the team of Forest Officials comprising of Forest Guard Bashir Ahmed Wani, Forester Muzzafar Hussain Hajam, Range Officer Azad Hussain along with team of Forest Protection Force under the supervision of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Marwah Vijay Kumar in last two days drive against the land encroachers retrieved about 10 Kanals of forest land from the encroachment and destroyed standing crops over it and also burnt down the wooden walls build by the encroachers around the encroached forest land.
The forest officials also demolished two Khothas constructed on the forest land while issued warning to around one dozen people to demolish the illegally constructed structures on forest land on its own before department will initiate action against them. Speaking to Early Times, DFO Marwah Vijay Kumar said that the forest team is on job since last two days while he is himself visiting the area and ensure that all the encroached land will be retrieved from the clutches of the encroacher beside also assured that all the structures constructed by the locals in Compartment No.61 of Udhil Range Chatroo will be demolished.
Meanwhile the team of revenue officials headed by Naib Tehsildar Subash Chander Bhadyal along with Patwar Halqa concern Raies Ahanger also visited the area after Early Times carried out the story pertaining to encroachment of common path by the kin of dreaded militant beside also look into the issue of encroachment of land on Chatroo-Singpura road for which the encroacher had already taken the compensation from the government.
During the course of the investigation the revenue team take the measurement of double story house constructed on common path beside also took the measurement of the road coming under the road alignment.
SDM Chatroo assured action against the land encroachment adding that he and Tehsildar will visit to spot to ensure the retrieval of land encroached if any and also to ensure removal of encroachment from common path.
Meanwhile as a part of pressure tactics, some land encroachers in order to divert the attention away from the encroachment tried to file false and fabricated case at police station Chatroo against the whistleblower, his family members as well as against the Early Times correspondent so that the middle line could be drawn to settle the issue amenably at local village level and want to pay way for no action on part of the forest department that has unnerved the land encroacher.
Surprisingly the some land encroachers who after seeing forest team coming manage to escape from the Kidru village and surfaced at Chatroo some 24 KM from the village aimed lockdown the view which needs to be taken seriously by the sub division administration as same is the violation of Section 144 Cr. PC.
