| 5500 passengers reached Jammu, 700 on way | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, May 17: Till date with start of special trains reaching at Railway Station Jammu Tawi around 4000 passengers have already reached Jammu. In addition to the above passengers another 1500 passengers from outside State have also reached Jammu by road from Lakhanpur and Thandi-Khui.
About 700 passengers’ belongihg to Districts of Jammu, Samba and Kathua are also routed through District Jammu which were de-boarded at Railway Station Udhampur. As per the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare all the outside State passengers are tested for COVID-19 and administratively quarantined till the results of the tests are received. District Administration Jammu is ensuring that 100 percent of the passengers entering Jammu from Railway Station Jammu Tawi are tested for COVID-19. Various District wise bays have been set-up at the Railway Station itself for facilitating the testing and also breakfast and tea provided to the passengers at Railway Station. An elaborate transport system has also been put in place by the District Administration to ensure orderly exit of the passengers. With regard to administrative quarantine facilities District Administration has set-up facility for more than 5000 passengers where the necessary arrangements of bedding and lodging have been put in place.
Various Senior Officers have been assigned the charge of look after of these administrative quarantine facilities. Mostly the buildings identified are Government buildings however, quality arrangements have been made that the basic facilities are provided at these quarantine facilities. Government has also made the arrangements for the meals through various caterers at these quarantine facilities.
The paid quarantine facilities for the passengers at various Hotels in Jammu have been identified and are under use for the persons who want to avail the single room facility during the quarantine period.
