Early Times Report

Srinagar, May 24: Sensing trouble over the allegedly fraudulent appointment of an “influential” medico to be signatory for the “multi-crore deals” related to Covid19 at a government hospital in Bemina locality here, the order has been revoked.
Sources said “in a fixed match”, the head of the hospital who is already under scanner for allegations of maladministration and corruption held a secret meeting with the “influential” doctor who was appointed by the then Peoples Democratic Party led government. Sources said at the meeting the two discussed that his “fraudulent” appointment to sign deals linked to the multi-crore Covid funding had leaked in public circles and that the same could invited a probe into the matter, which could land both of them in trouble. Sources said at the meeting the head of the hospital told the doctor that they should opt for a “fixed match” to end the controversy without a probe. The principal is understood to have asked the doctor to write application to th

former pleading that he was already holding multiple charges and thus should be relieved from one of the charges.
Sources said the doctor who had done his MBBS from Russia immediately wrote the application as per the instructions of his “partner boss” and addressed it to the principal.
Sources said immediately an order was passed to relieve the doctor of the Covid funding related post. “Basically the duo (Principal and doctor) was worried that any inquiry into the matter would expose their nexus on multiple fronts and thus in a bid to avoid any further controversy, the issue was mutually resolved as both of them have been beneficiaries of such frauds,” said a delegation of doctors on the condition of anonymity. The doctors said they have already shot a letter to the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir about the alleged mismanagement at the hospital.
When contacted a senior official at the hospital told Early Times on the condition of anonymity that the issue has resolved “as the order has been revoked.”
