Medical officer tested positive, Ahmshareef declared as RZ

BARAMULLA, June 3: Among forty six cases, one medical officer has also tested positive have while 407 are active positive, one more village declared as Red zone as on date in north Kashmir. According to the details available, in Kupwara district 10 fresh positive cases have been reported today, 299 are cumulative cases, 222 have recovered and one death has occurred so far.
In Baramulla, 27 fresh positive cases were reported including 25 others, and 02 travelers, 272 are cumulative, 161 are active positive, 01 has recovered today and 07 deaths have occurred so far.
In Bandipora district, 09 fresh positive cases reported including 06 others and 03 travelers, 161 are cumulative, 24 are active positive cases, 02 have recovered and 01 death has also occurred so far.
However sources informed ET that a medical officer tested positive in Kreeri Block of Baramulla district. They said that a medical officer at Kreeri block was tested positive today for COVID-19, while seven pregnant ladies in Sopore belt have been tested positive.
Meanwhile sources have also said that three health workers are among the fresh positive cases that were reported in Bandipora district today.
There are other positive cases that were reported today, including three health workers. All the fresh positive patients were shifted to a hospital dedicated for the treatment of COVID-19, said sources. They said that authorities on Tuesday had declared Ahamsharief village in Bandipora district as a red zone after 5 new cases were found there following which the authorities have restricted the inward and outward movement in the notified areas.
While people in the buffer zone have been advised not to move unnecessarily, and if there was any sort of emergency, people can contact the designated officials for their help, said sources.
They said that authorities have also restricted the movement of people in the main market, besides shops have also been closed.
The district magistrate also directed the chief medical officer to get the process of contact tracing done as per norms and 100 percent screening of the 300 meters perimeter, sources added.
