DDC Kathua inspects border bunkers, met firing affected families

KATHUA, June 6:- District Development Commissioner, O P Bhagat today conducted an extensive tour of border villages of Hiranagar sub-division and enquired about the damages caused due to recent cross border firing incidents.
The DDC interacted with families of border villages Chakra, Chandrachak, Spalma, Hore, Bhagwana chak, Bobiya and Londi who have been badly affected by recent shelling. He directed officers to evaluate the damages and assured the families of every possible help from the district administration.
While taking first hand appraisal of ongoing construction works of bunkers, the DDC directed executing agencies to ensure quality of work in line with prescribed design and specifications. He assured people and local representatives that construction of community and individual bunkers will be completed in a time bound manner.
The DDC also visited the Quarantine Centre established in Common Facility Centre, Hiranagar and interacted with inmates and enquired about the facilities which are being provided besides also enquired about their status of sample collection.
ACD Kathua, Narayan Dutt, Engineers of Rural Development, BDC Chairman, Sarpanchs and Panchs were also present.
