DC inspects several locations, reviews Implementation of SOPs, Guidelines
12 fresh positive cases; 497 active positive, 37 recover in north Kashmir

KUPWARA, June 12: Out of 80, twelve fresh positive cases were reported, 494 are active positive cases, 37 recovered and 14 deaths have occurred so far in north Kashmir till today.
According to the district wise positive cases break up, In Baramulla district, 07 fresh positive cases were reported today, total no of cumulative cases are 504, active positive cases are 330, 02 have recovered as on date and 10 deaths have occurred so far in this district.
In Kupwara district, 05 fresh positive cases have been reported today, 381 are cumulative cases, 102 are active positive cases, 27 have recovered as on date, and 03 deaths have occurred so far.
In Bandipora district, there are no fresh positive cases today, whereas 233 are cumulative cases, 59 are active positive, 08 have recovered as on date and 01 death have occurred so far.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla today inspected several locations of Baramulla town in order to review the implementation of SOPs and guidelines that have been issued in the wake of administration’s decision of unlocking COVID-19 lockdown.
DC took a detailed appraisal of the situation during which he emphasized to follow the issued guidelines in letter and spirit.
He directed the concerned agencies to ensure that all SOPs, especially odd-even systems of shops, social distancing, and use of face masks are being followed by all the stakeholders.
Dr Itoo exhorted upon the shopkeepers to abide by the guidelines issued by the administration in the interest of public health. He said that such measures were taken to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 infection.
Meanwhile, DC also inspects some clinics, nursing homes and other medical stores where he took appraisal of the situation. He stressed upon them to follow all SOPs failing which shall render strict legal action against the violators.
Dr Itoo was accompanied by SSP Baramulla and other top civil and police officials, he also urged the people to use face masks and avoid unnecessary travel and gatherings so that they can save themselves from any kind of eventuality.
