BARAMULLA (Uri), June 20: Pakistan has been continuously violating ceasefire in Uri and Kupwara district from past few days, and with the result five people were injured today in Nambla village, where some cattle also died and some houses got also damaged. According to local residents of Nambla village, five civilians were injured after Pakistan violated ceasefire at LoC in Hajipeer sector, Basgranh of Uri on Saturday.
The injured were identified as Maqbool Ahmad Mangral, Ahmad Sheikh, Sakeena Begum, Akhter Bano and Idrees Mushtaq all residents of Nambla village that is close to the Line of Control (LoC), said reliable sources.
They said that a live shell was found near the house of Irshad Ahmad Sofi r/o Sofi Mohala, Nambla Uri and family have been shifted to safer places by Uri police.
However a senior official said that four persons have been injured due to shelling across the Line of Control in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.
Yes, there was shelling by the Pakistan army in violation of the ceasefire agreement in Nambla Uri, resulting in injuries to the four local residents, and they have been hospitalized, and all are stable, the official said.
He said that some cattle have also died, while as few structures were partially damaged, and the affected families have been shifted to safer places by the local administration and police.
A top army official told early times that four civilians were on Saturday injured when Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rampur sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
“On 20 June 2020, in the morning hours, Pakistan initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation along the LoC in Ra mpur sector by firing mortars and other weapons, ‘’ the official informed.
According to him, Indian army retaliated and gave them a befitting reply after which there was lull for some period of time, but the fear continued to loom over the populated areas.
It is pertinent to mention here that, from past few days Pakistan has been continuously violating ceasefire agreement in north Kashmir districts while as on June 14, the armies of India and Pakistan exchanged gunfire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Boniyar sector of Baramulla district.
After which the authorities had shifted almost 18 families belonging to Silkote and other adjoining villages to safer places in Uri.
Again on June 16, Pakistan initiated an unprovoked Ceasefire Violation (CFV) along the LoC in Naugam sector by firing Mortars and other weapons, after which a befitting response was given to the ir aggression.
On June 19, Pakistan violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Machil Tangdar sector of Kupwara district. Pakistan army initiated an unprovoked CFV along the LoC in Machil Sector by firing mortars and other weapons.
