In a function organized to pay tribute to Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee at Residency Road, Raman Suri, joined by party workers and supporters offered flowers to the patriot’s soul, garlanded the photograph of Dr Mookerjee and recited patriotic songs. The event concluded with singing of National Anthem.
Speaking on the occasion, Raman Suri paid homage to the great Nationalist leader & Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder, Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, on his Punya Tithi. He said that Dr. Mookerjee sacrificed his life for the cause of unity & integrity of our Nation. He will always be an inspiration for us and will continue to be a source of inspiration for the generations to come.
He further said that Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee was the most pious soul, who sacrificed his life on June 23, 1953 for the cause of United India, thus rejecting the decree of ‘Two Constitutions, Two Heads and Two Flags for One Nation’ with reference to Jammu and Kashmir. With his sacrifice, the Permit System for entering J&K ended.
