cluj concludes three day international webinar on yog

Jammu, June 23: A three day International Seminar (Virtual) -Empowering Society through Education, Yog and Olympic values was organised by the Sports Wing of the Office of Dean Students Welfare from 21st to 23rd June 2020 in collaboration with Olympic Values Education programme and International forum for Research and Behavioral Science to commemorate both Yoga and Olympic Days. The seminar was an attempt to create new approaches to empower social system in India through various means like education, yoga, science, health and Olympic values. The webinar which was earlier inaugurated by Prof Anju Bhasin, eminent academician and Former Founding Vice Chancellor,CLUJ concluded with Prof. Manoj Dhar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu who has recently taken the charge of Vice Chancellor, CLUJ as Chief Guest at the Valedictory Ceremony and also chaired the panel discussion on the concluding day.
He shared his insights on making the university a hub of intellectual activities where the students can be groomed in varied aspects of life.
He exhorted that during these challenging times of Covid-19 ,the webinar is an attempt to understand and decipher the need for creating an empowered social order where yoga, sports and Olympic values play a paramount role in shaping young minds .He added that in this digital era, our education has to be more meaningful and value based that can be inculcated from our customs and traditions and also creating a stress free environment that focuses on learning by doing.
Dr Twinkle Suri ,Dean Students Welfare,CLUJ welcomed the august house and gave an overview of the webinar.She also emphasized that seminar was held at an apt time when we are under the serious threat of covid 19 and our ancient values of Yog and Modern science can work in tandem to make the world a better place. The seminar dwelt on themes of Society and Yog, with Education and Olympic values and was spread into three days with a galaxy of eminent and impeccable Resource Speakers from round the globe- About 700 people were registered for the seminar which included 400 Teaching Faculty , 65 Research Scholars , 195 students , also doctors and sports personnel from different countries including Canada and Iran making it a mega qualitative platform for exchange of intellectual energy.
