ISM Deptt Ramban declared winners of quiz competition

RAMBAN, June 23: Department of AYUSH, Indian System of Medicine (ISM) declared the result with respect to a quiz competition organized by the department during International Yoga Week with great enthusiasm.
In the competition Dr. Jatinder Kour, Assistant Professor (Gynae & Obes.) Government Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, Jammu and Dr. Mir Javed Hussain, District Nodal Officer, Anantnag were adjudged 1st and 2nd winner respectively.
Pertinent to mention here that the quiz competition was organized in order to encourage public towards Yoga, wherein large number of participants from all parts of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has participated in the competition, through social media platforms like Zoom, Facebook, Instagram and also through social media handles of District Administration Ramban.
The District Master Trainer COVID-19 & District Coordinator (Yoga), Dr. Masood Iqbal Zargar thanked Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan, Director, ISM J&K, Jammu, Dr. Mohan Singh and District Nodal Officer, Ramban, Dr. Rakesh Kumar for providing the opportunity to organize and complete the event successfully.
GDC Kishtwar organizes National Webinar on “Environmental Dimensions of COVID-19
KISHTWAR, JUNE 23: Keeping pace with the technological advancements in education sector, Department of Botany at Government Degree College Kishtwar organized one day National Webinar on “Environmental Dimensions of COVID-19 Pandemic: Challenges and Opportunities” here today.
The program was organized under the supervision of Professor, Anirudh Sharma, Principal Government Degree College Kishtwar and Dr Barket Ali, Head department of Botany.
The proceedings were conducted by Dr Zahoor Ahmed Wani, organizing secretary of the webinar.
Professor Anirudh Sharma talked about the relevance of the webinar in the present circumstances and stressed for more such initiatives for masses awareness about this pandemic.
Guest speaker, Nadeem Qadri (Environmental Lawyer), highlighted the role of Youth in Environmental Conservation with Judicial perspective, wherein some important environmental clues were projected and discussed various tools for environmental conservation in judicial perspective.
Dr. Manzoor A. Shah (Associate Professor, UoK) spoke on the topic Pandemics in an ecological paradigm: learn from basics to lead from the front, wherein he discussed the importance of big science projects in research and linking local ecological issues with the global ones.
Dr. CM Seth, spoke on Environment at Risk: Post Covid-19 Pandemic challenges and Opportunities, wherein he elaborated on impact of pandemic and the opportunities lying ahead.
The program was attended by participants from various universities across the country who participated in the question answer session at the end of the webinar.
