Forest Deptt conducts fencing of encroached land in Poonch

Poonch, July 20: Continuing its drive against illegal encroachment on forest land, in the presence of Executive Magistrate, Forest Department Poonch along with staff of social forestry & forest protection force and police assistance has fenced encroached land of area measuring approx. 400 kanal in khasra no. 2944 village qazimohra in peaceful manner. However, there has been little resistance but large number of deployed staff has controlled situation and checked happening of any untoward incidence.
In record of rights, Khasra no. 2944 village Qazimohra area measuring 650 kanal is recorded as Ghair-Mumkin-Jaar. Social forestry department has established forest closure in year 1991-92 on area measuring 20 ha (400 kanal) and planted 12000 species of various kinds. On 11th July, a joint Nishandeyi was conducted by revenue department & forest department and accordingly, an Inspection note was prepared by forest department after spot verification. Currently, fencing of social forestry of being very old time hence is mostly damaged but there are some well established forest trees on spot, planted during 1991. Khasra no. 2944 Village Qazimohra is prime land, located near to Poonch city, worth of atleast 200 cr market cost. The area is highly encroached in garb of illegal revenue records. As per information, Plot cutting have happened on many spot in said khasra and much of area was sold.
Mohan Choudhary IFS DFO Poonch has requested Rahul Yadav Deputy Commissioner Poonch to cancel illegal record on said khasra. On the basis of revenue report & inspection note, DC Poonch has cancelled illegal records on forest land in Khasra No. 2944 and requisite entry in favour of forest department has been entered.
