Are Jammuites paying price to wholeheartedly supporting BJP?
Jobs nowhere in sight, developmental works stalled, get toll plazas instead
7/20/2020 11:47:33 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, July 20: The Jammuites are appeared to be paying the price for wholeheartedly support the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), who have been bestowed with another gift of toll plaza at Lakhanpur, while the development works in Jammu province have stalled and the promised jobs are nowhere in sight.
If go by the claims of BJP leaders after the abrogation of Article-370, a new era of development would usher in Jammu and Kashmir. “The Article had kept the J&K isolated for long and didn’t allow its development. The abrogation will lead to growth and employment and private investments in education, health and tourism. The removal of restrictions will create more jobs and also benefit the rural economy”, it had claimed, while former Governor had also announced that 50,000 government jobs would be advertised and filled soon.
In the last one year, it has been found that the development works in Jammu province have come to a standstill with no progress on Tawi Artificial Lake project or Mubarak Mandi heritage site, Mubarak Mandi Gandola project beside others.
Moreover the claim of providing 50,000 jobs is also seemed to be far from truth as not more than 10,000 government jobs have been advertised so far but majority of them fall in the category of Class-IV jobs, in which highly qualified youth are not eligible.
“The only benefit the BJP leaders have given to Jammu province is the gift of toll-plazas in Jammu province. The new toll plaza is coming at Lakhanpur, while there are two more proposed toll plazas in Jammu”, a politician said, adding that whereas in Kashmir province there were only one toll plaza so far.
“On one hand, it is found that in other Union Territories there are no toll plazas but in JK UT new toll plazas have been installed and BJP leaders have their own justification for all the new burden on Jammuites”, another said, adding that when Sarore toll plaza was installed, the BJP J&K president had claimed that he would uproot and then claimed to have written a letter to Union Minister but all such efforts were only to hoodwink the Jammuites.
It seems that Jammuites have been paying the price for wholeheartedly supporting the BJP, which is also not depriving the Jammuites from the 4G internet facility.
