| PIL highlighting dilapidated condition of Munsiff Court, Mendhar DB directs personal appearance of Comm/Secy PWD, CE PWD R&B and XEN R&B Poonch | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 17 (JNF): In a significant order, a Division Bench of the State High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul (through Video Conferenceing) has directed the personal appearance of Comm./Secy. Department of Roads & Buildings, Chief Engineer PWD(R&B) and the Executive Engineer (R&B) Poonch on the next date of hearing in a PIL filed by Bar Association, Mendhar highlighting the dilapidated condition of the Munsiff Court Building.
After considering the submissions of Advocate Abrar Khan appearing for the petitioner Bar Association, Mendhar, the Division Bench headed by Chief Justice Gita Mittal observed that despite repeated opportunities, the Executive Engineer (PWD) Poonch has not filed report in terms of order dated 23-07-2019. The DB while expressing its anguish observed that the amount stands sanctioned for the repairs to the building in 2014. Still nothing has been done. “This is a serious matter and is concerned with the construction of new building for the court of Munsiff Mendhar”.
With these serious observations the DB sought the personal appearance of Comm./Secy. Department of Roads & Buildings, Chief Engineer PWD(R&B) and the Executive Engineer (R&B) Poonch on the next date of hearing and further directed the registry to list this matter on August 20, 2020. JNF |
