Early Times Report

SUNDERBANI, Aug 21: A government employee of this block in Rajouri district received a shock when he came to know that his bank account has been credited by three and half lakhs and the source of credit was more surprising.
The government employee namely Subhash Chandra son of Kuldeep Raj while talking to Early Times said that on August 19 he was surprised and shocked when his bank account number 3090040100000001showed credit balance of Rs. 3, 57,000. He said that the credit balance should have been Rs. 7,000 and not the amount reflected.
Subhash has his account in the Jammu & Kashmir Grameen Bank at Devak branch. When he enquired about the funds amount to three and half lakhs he was told that the amount has been credited from the 14th FC with the head of the same being 120512001907 and the department being Rural Development Department (RDD).
“Next day I went to the bank and withdrew Rs. 40,000 from my bank account. As soon as I came out I received a call from an employee of RDD and he told me to deposit the withdrawal amount with the bank.
This shows the whole thing is fishy and the RDD has complete information about my bank account. One cannot rule out the role of bank officials in this whole affair,” said the employee.
Subhash said that the matter should be probed in a professional manner and that stern action should be taken against the guilty. He said that he deposited Rs. 40,000 that he withdrew from the account after receiving the call from RDD employee. He demanded intervention from Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and said that such things need to be stopped at the earliest.
Director RDD Jammu, Sudershan Kumar told Early Times that full-fledged probe would be carried out in the matter and guilty would not be spared.
