Director ISM e-reviews functioning of AYUSH in Jammu, Kathua districts

JAMMU, Aug 22: Director, Indian Systems of Medicine, Dr Mohan Singh, today e-reviewed implementation of AYUSH schemes in Jammu and Kathua districts.
The meeting had a detailed discussion on various issues and schemes like NABARD, National AYUSH Mission, establishment of AYUSH Health & Wellness Centres (HWCs), status of Utilization of funds under various heads (Plan/Non-Plan/Capex, NAM) and preventive measures being taken up to tackle COVID-19 pandemic through AYUSH interventions.
District Officer, ISM Jammu, Dr Suresh Sharma, informed that nine AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres are being established in Jammu district, for which repairs/renovations, branding and establishment of herbal gardens are being carried out on priority basis.
The IT equipments have already been procured for these AYUSH HWCs which shall be installed as soon as the repairs/ renovations are completed. He informed that all nine AYUSH H&WCs will be made fully functional within one month.
He further informed that the ISM Dispensaries at Rabta and Agar Majoor being constructed under NABARD will be taken over at an earliest.
Regarding Utilization of funds under various schemes, District Officer informed that the utilization of funds is under process and the utilization certificates will be submitted within a short span of time. He also informed that 64587 beneficiaries have been provided AYUSH immune boosting medicines as part of prophylactic and preventive measures during COVID-19 pandemic in Jammu district.
District Officer, ISM Kathua, Dr Vikram Jamwal, informed that 15 AYUSH H&WCs being established in District Kathua have been made fully functional with all civil works regarding repairs/renovations, branding, fencing, establishment of herbal gardens, installation of IT equipments, water/electricity connections and availability of AYUSH Medicines are completedDirector, while discussing the important issues regarding functioning of AYUSH sector in Jammu and Kathua districts, appreciated the work done in Kathua district. He advised both the district officers to keep a close liaison with the District Administration for registration of District AYUSH Societies and for minor repair/renovation works of ISM Institutions under district plan, wherever required.
He took a serious note of under utilization of funds in Jammu District and directed the concerned officer to submit the Utilization Certificates under all heads by 31st August 2020 besides completing all pending works in the Health & wellness centres of the District.
He advised both the officers to submit proposal for rationalization of staff, if required, to make Health & Wellness Centres fully operational.
He further advised the District Officers to submit, Physical verification report of all Institutions, status of RTIs and Court Cases, status of manpower and vacancies, identification of land for rented ISM Dispensaries and preparation of DPRs for construction works wherever land is identified.
Deputy Director, ISM Jammu Dr Rohit Gupta, Assistant Director (HQ), Dr Rakesh Kumar Raina and other concerned Officers and officials attended the meeting.
