BJP’s insiders involved in goof-up of Ram Madhav’s meeting with Mian Altaf
Valley based vested interests in party sabotage move

Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 30: The ‘goof-up’ on the part of BJP to arrange meeting of prominent National Conference leader Mian Altaf with party’s national general secretary Ram Madhav was result of internal politics within the disciplined party.
Credible sources in the BJP said that party leadership was desperately trying to rope in a credible and respectable face in Kashmir Valley to further strengthen the party in the Valley. “Instead of facilitating meetings of central leaders with some credible leaders from Kashmir, some Valley based leaders of the party are rather creating hurdles in bringing some mass base leaders into the party fold”, sources said.
Insiders in the BJP said that party leadership was desperately trying to open a channel of communication with Mian Altaf who has a strong following across Jammu and Kashmir regions. Ram Madhav wanted to meet Mian Altaf but some insiders in the party sabotaged the move because some elements don’t want the entry of a leader like Mian Altaf in the party.
Important to mention that by refusing to meet Ram Madhav Mian Altaf has exposed BJP’s game-plan. Mian Altaf had stated that BJP leader Khalid Jehangir called him on Friday and told that BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav will come to his residence to meet him.
“I told him (Khalid Jehangir) there is no need to come to my residence as I have nothing to do with the BJP. I never met him directly or indirectly and to keep the record straight I sent a message from my phone to Khalid Jehangir to immediately convey to Ram Madhav not to visit my residence besides never discuss any politics with me.”, Mian Altaf stated in a statement.
