Common patients at the mercy of God in Govt hospitals, BJP leaders getting VIP treatment at Narayana
9/4/2020 12:23:22 AM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

Jammu, Sept 3: While patients suffering from coronavirus have been facing hardship due to the worst condition of health institutes in Jammu, all virus infected BJP leaders were getting VIP treatment in Narayana Hospital.
Ignoring common patients at the mercy of God in the government hospitals, where all arrangements were only on papers, Jammu’s representatives are getting VIP treatment in highly equipped hospital. This action of the BJP leaders has evoked strong reactions from the opposition parties as well as the common masses. People regretted that instead of ensuring better treatment in the government hospitals by using their influence, BJP leaders have opted their own VIP treatment in private institutes.
According to a report in a national news-paper, Uday Bhan Chib, president, Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC), J&K, took a swipe at the BJP leaders who are undergoing treatment at the Narayana hospital.
“BJP leaders are getting the best of healthcare facilities at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana super specialty hospital, where doctors in PPE (personal protective equipment) gears are singing songs for them. However, a common man is left to fend for his life in the Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH) in Jammu,” , newspaper quoted Chib alleged.
On Monday, the PYC activists had staged a protest outside the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana super specialty hospital, accusing the authorities of admitting only dignitaries and refusing treatment to common people.
“An old woman, who had been hospitalized at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana super specialty hospital for another ailment, was referred to GMCH, Jammu, after she had tested Covid-19 positive. Her family members were also slapped with a hefty bill by the hospital authorities,” Chib further alleged.
During the previous PDP-BJP regime, BJP ministers were holding the health department but nothing has been done to improve health infrastructure in Jammu province.
Common people are alleging that BJP leaders were much aware that due to their misdeeds and corrupt practices, they have been made all government hospitals in Jammu not more than “slaughter houses” so none of them dare to even get admission in these hospitals.
