On September 7, 1906, India was witness to a unique happening – the opening of a bank promoted by Parsis, Hindus, Muslims and Jew, all Indian national – a truly secular bank. BOI was founded in 1906 as the first bank during the British Raj that catered to the people of India rather than the colonial administration. Bank is celebrating its 115th Foundation day.
Bank of India the most trust branded banks in India is now a household name and synonymous with growth, development and efficiency. The survey of BOI being ranked amongst the top ten trusted service brands in India by A. C. Nelson reveals its continued faith of customers in Bank of India as provider of quality and reassurance. The contribution made by BOI to the Indian banking industry is well known. The bank showed an improvement in containing its slippages, or good loans turning bad. Bank has the best of technology and best of capabilities. BOI has travelled a long way gaining strength, braving strong winds of change. Spirit and culture has been a part of the BOI folklore.
