9/7/2020 12:08:57 AM
Early Times Report

Srinagar, Sept 6: In brazen violation of norms, a senior official at the SK Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura here continues to be in chair even after four months of his retirement from the government services.
The development has come to fore, when the government has directed its employees including officers, whosoever retire from the services to immediately surrender their I-Cards.
But in this case, leave apart surrendering the I-card, the said person has been formally holding the charge in violation of norms.
Official documents as accessed by the Early Times reveal that the said person who was working as Administrative Officer at the SKIMS was scheduled to retire on April 30, 2020.
Sources said the said official kept attending his office even after the date of retirement. Sources said a senior official had pleaded that this particular person should be allowed to work in the wake of pandemic.
Official documents reveal that the said officer has been allegedly instrumental in the appointment some of the influential doctors in league with another senior doctor.
The said person has been signatory to official documents even after August 15, 2020.
Sources said resentment is already brewing among the staff at SKIMS that how come can a retired person continue to work.
“When even doctors and paramedics were allowed to retire during the Covid19 pandemic what is so special about him?” asked a delegation of senior doctors on the condition.
The doctors said the decision to let a retired person continue to work was not only against norms but would set a bad precedence.
“Tomorrow everyone retiring will come up with excuse to continue his services,” the doctors said demanding a probe into the alleged irregularity.
When contacted a senior official at the SKIMS downplayed the issue. He said the said official was allowed to continue his services in the interest of the administration.
