JK bank official, pathologist DH Kishtwar among fresh positive cases
116 COVID positive cases reported in last 24 hours in Kishtwar

JAMMU, Sept 10: Kishtwar district today reported 70 fresh COVID positive cases thereby taking the overall tally of those tested positive to 116 in the last 24 hours.
The official sources told Early Times that among the positive cases that reported today, 35 positive were reported from District Hospital Kishtwar testing laboratory which include a Lab Technician and a Pathologist, who was at forefront since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
Overall around 16 health officials including a senior doctor have tested positive so far for COVID-19 in Kishtwar district.
Meanwhile, a senior official of Jammu and Kashmir Bank at Kishtwar tested positive following which the authorities at main Branch Kishtwar of J&K bank has decided to shut the bank for tomorrow for necessary sanitization while at the same time the bank has asked its employees to get their COVID-19 test done.
After 13 positive cases reported from Behra Bhatta area yesterday, 6 more COVID positive cases were today reported from the same village while the testing at Zelna village which reported 12 cases of a family few days ago has yet to be started and same will be conducted within a day or two.
As per the officials, Kishtwar District presently has 301 active positive cases while a senior doctor from District Hospital and his wife who were tested positive for COVID-19 couple of weeks ago were fully recovered and discharged from Government Medical College Jammu today.
So far 211 COVID positive cases from Kishtwar have been fully recovered from this deadly disease.
Meanwhile, markets in Kishtwar continue to witness heavy rush and many people were seen moving without masks, flouting social distancing norms while at the same time administration continue to delay imposition of lockdown in the district despite several requests from general public.
