Jammu, Sept 12: The highhandedness of the Municipal Council Rajouri can be gauged from the fact that it furnished two different replies to the same RTI applications filed by two persons in clear attempt to mislead the information seekers.
As per information, two RTI applicants had submitted their applications on the same subject matter seeking some information from the Executive Officer Rajouri, who had also been given additional charge of Municipal Council Surankote nearly two months ago but shockingly, they received different replies, which raised question mark on the credibility of the replies furnished to both of them.
They further said that they had asked for the information mainly on the working of Municipal Council Rajouri, including total number of construction works, funds received and spent from 2016 to till date, names of the contactors, whose works were allotted, total amount of fine imposed by MC from 2016 till date.
They also demanded certified copies of the tenders called by MC Rajouri from 2016 till date. They alleged that it was a deliberate attempt to hoodwink the common masses by furnishing wrong replies
