DDC inaugurates newly completed works, attends Garm Sabhas

KATHUA, Oct 8: The last leg of Back to Village 3 activities are in full swing across 109 Panchayats of Kathua district amid huge public response, especially youth and women folks. District Development Commissioner, O.P Bhagat visited Chak Nathal& Chak Gopala Panchayats of Block Marheen and Jarai Panchayat of Block Nagri and presided over Gram Sabha proceedings. He was accompanied by the SSP and the concerned Visiting Officers. He also participated in scheduled activities of B2V. The DDC urged upon the locals to participate in the program in large numbers as efforts are on to speed up the public service delivery and to redress public grievances. He said Panchayats are being empowered to identify and prioritise those developmental works popularly required in their area. Earlier, the DDC also kick started renovation work of pond, inaugurated works completed under 14 FC and MGNREGA and distributed Sports kits at Panchayat Chak Nathal. Meanwhile the day long B2V3 activities witnessed huge turnout of villagers in Mahila Sabhas, Poshan Mah awareness events, Baal and youth Sabhas, while sports activities were also held in various Panchayats. The day was also marked by the hosting of Grah Pravesh ceremonies for the PMAY house beneficiaries, inauguration of Panchayat assets and discussions for the finalization of Panchayat plan for MGNREGA, 15 FC and works to be taken under B2V funds. The visiting officers recorded the feedback of the people and assured that the opinions and suggestions will be taken into consideration while planning works of the respective Panchayats.
