| Naka Manjhari Water Station lying defunct, Dept unmoved | | |

MENDHAR, Oct 10: Middle Naka Manjhari village of Block Balakote in Sub Division Mendhar and its surrounding hamlets are without water supply for the last about two months due to callous approach of PHE Department.
The locals of the area today lodged their protest against the concerned PHE authorities and sought intervention of DC Poonch into the matter. They alleged that despite several requests to the concerned authorities the water supply could not be restored. A large population has been deprived of the water supply. The residents of the village said that they were suffering acute shortage of water in their areas and adjoining Naka Manjhari as water supply in the area has been affected for last about five months.
The villagers alleged that water pumping station at the village went out of order two months ago but the concerned PHE authorities failed to get it repaired and restore supply. The local Sarpanch Saif Ahmed Khan said the matter was brought to the notice of concerned JE, AE and even the AEE PHE Mendhar and Executive Engineer Poonch but no action was taken till date.
