PHE daily wagers’ strike enters 16th day

JAMMU, Oct 9: The ‘Kaam Chhoro Hartal’ of daily wagers of Jal Shakti (PHE) Department entered 15 consecutive day, today.
A large number of daily wagers assembled today in Chief Engineer Office, BC Road Jammu and shouted slogans against the J&K UT administration.
The members of PHE Employees United Front stated that the ongoing ‘Kaam Chhoro Hartal’ of the daily wagers entered 16th consecutive day today but J&K UT administration has adopted criminal silence on the burning issues of daily wagers.
They further said the daily wagers of Jal Shakti Department have been performing their duties for last 26 years as daily wagers in far flung areas but J&K UT administration destroyed their future by not regularizing service of any worker after the year 1994.
They further said it is the violation of labour laws and fundamental rights of the poor daily wagers.
The members of PHE Employees United Front including Ravi Hans, Bhanu Partap Singh, Jyoti Parkash, Rajinder Singh Taj, Hoshair Singh, Navdeep Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Rashpal Singh, Mohan Lal, Manjeet Singh, Vijay Kumar, and Binkel Manhas etc addressing the workers at protest venue.
They further made an appeal to L G Manoj Sinha to personally intervene into the matter and resolve the genuine issues of the daily rated workers.
