Ayushman Bharat will play a stellar role in post-COVID-19 world: Kavinder

Jammu , Oct 10: The ambitious “Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is a giant step towards a healthy India, aiming to make affordable, accessible healthcare a reality for all. The scheme provides portable coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family annually, and a beneficiary covered under the scheme would be allowed to avail cashless benefits from any public and private empanelled hospitals across the country.
This was stated by former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta while inaugurating a registration camp for Ayushman Bharat Yogana here today. The camp was organized by Jyoti Devi, Corporator Ward 53, Trikuta Nagar.
Kavinder said Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY will continue to play a stellar role in this post-COVID-19 world, in improving the overall healthcare in the country. The scheme was launched with a vision to provide more than one crore treatments every year, year-on-year, so that the poor and needy can get the best healthcare and are able to contribute to the overall economic progress of India, in this post-COVID-19 period.
Gupta stressed upon a sustained awareness campaign about the said scheme and further emphasized to inform the prospective beneficiaries about the program and its benefits. He informed that the PMJAY scheme will provide a cover of up to Rs 5 lakhs per family per year and will provide cashless and paperless access to services for the beneficiary at the point of service.
The former Deputy Chief Minister said Jammu & Kashmir is at the forefront of the implementation of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. He appealed to the J&K government to extend the benefits of the health scheme to all residents of the Union Territory. Besides, he also praised doctors, and paramedics, who are working selflessly to contain the spread of Covid-19.
During the camp, the former Deputy Chief Minister interacted with a large number of people and took stock of the problems being faced by them.
Responding to demands and problems of the people, Kavinder assured them that all their issues would be addressed at the shortest possible time. He also sought cooperation of the people in implementing the development programmes on ground level and also appealed to them to take benefits of the schemes launched by the PM Modi government.
