ADC Jammu reviews arrangements for festival season

JAMMU, Oct 15: Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu (ADM), Satish Kumar Thursday convened a meeting to review the arrangements for ensuing Dussehra and Navratri festivals, here.
The ADC directed the officers of the PHE and PWD to ensure proper barricading, besides making adequate logistic arrangements in time for the convenience of the devotees visiting temples and shrines during the Navratras.
He directed the Fire and Emergency Services Department to keep fire tenders ready at Bahu Fort and Nagrota respectively.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner informed that there shall be no religious processions in and around the city during the festive season in view of Covid pandemic. However people can visit the temples and shrines by strictly following all the guidelines issued by the District administration.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation was directed to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in and around the temples. The officers of PDD were instructed to complete the repair works if any, before the beginning of festive season for ensuring uninterrupted power supply in Jammu while as PHE department was directed to provide uninterrupted water supply.
The General Secretary Sanathan Sabha Geeta Bhawan Jammu Prabhat Singh informed the meeting that there shall be no celebration of Dussehra at Parade ground. The decision has been taken to ensure safety of the general public in view of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
The meeting was attended by SSP Traffic Shiv Kumar; Joint Director Tourism Neelam Khajuria; SDM Jammu North, Pawan Kotwal; Addl SP Security, Shaheen Wahid; Deputy Director Information, Priyanka Bhat, AD, FCS & CA, Sonam Verma; CMO Jammu, Dr. Mridula Gupta; Health Officer JMC, Shamim Mir ; AEE City Second, Deepak Puri, Div. Fire Officer Jammu, Govardhan Singh, President Sanatan Dharam Sabha Jammu, President Bahu Fort Development Committee Jammu besides senior officers of the concerned departments. .
