JMC Mayor kick starts developmental works

Jammu, Oct 15: Chander Mohan Gupta, Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Madam Rani Devi Councillor of ward no.34 conducted an extensive tour of the various localities of the ward & kick started the construction work of laying of slab over the nallah flowing through upper Vikas Nagar at Door Darshan lane.
Dinesh Gupta Councilor of ward no.18, M.R Dogra, Pyra lal Angral, Sardar Puran Singh, Shub kumar and other prominent inhabitants of the locality as well as Tej Krishan Pandita, Junior Engineer (Civil), work supervisor of the ward and concerned contractor were also remained present there.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that this was the long pending demands of the people of the area as they were suffering great hardships while passing through this area which is a thorough fare.
He further said that an amount of Rs 25 lacs has been sanctioned for this development work which includes repair of nallah from all sides and laying of slab of about 70 meter span. After completion of said work, locals will get great relief & they can walk easily in the lane which will be connected with main road Janipur. Locals also putforth other demands which includes renovation/construction of left over drains/lanes of the area, lifting of stray dogs/animals on routine basis, installation of more LED street lights in remaining lanes etc.
Mayor gave them patience hearing and assured that all their genuine issues will be sorted out in a phased manner and appeal to the general public not to throw garbage, waste material etc in the public lanes, drains and nallahs , remove the encroachments over the nallahas at their own level, plant more and more saplings on the both sides of nallahas and near their surroundings where sufficient space is available in order to make Jammu neat, clean and green city.
