Modi Govt put J&K on economic highway of growth: Anurag Thakur
12/7/2020 11:50:46 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

RAJOURI, Dec 7: Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir DDC elections, has Anurag Singh Thakur, stated, “Modi government has put the UT of Jammu and Kashmir on the economic highway of growth. We have not only ensured the national integrity of this region but also integrated it with the Aatma Nirbhar Bharat vision.”
Thakur said, “Modi governments agenda has been crystal clear from the beginning, we want development and we have ensured targets are met. J&K will soon emerge as an educational hub, the IIT, IIM, IIMC, AIIMS will expand educational opportunities for the youth. We want the youth of J&K to compete with the rest of India and achieve their aspirations. Expanding infrastructure and investment in the state will provide them avenues for employment and setting up enterprises.”
Thakur further said, “Setting up of AIIMS and Cancer Institute along with two new medical colleges in Udhampur, as well as 22 Degree Colleges and two Cultural Universities have been envisioned by the BJP. We are investing in educational infrastructure because we believe in investing in the future of the youth. J&K is a crucial factor in the economic strategy and growth of India’s economy.” He said, “Economic growth requires world class infrastructure and we have promised this under PM Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). Nearly 11,517 km in total length, 1858 roads, 84 bridges have already been constructed. Another 1961 km in total length, 3261 roads and 243 bridges have been approved as part of infrastructure projects by Modi government. In fact the Srinagar to Leh connectivity has been improved by the Rs 9000 crore Zozila Tunnel; which again is a historic milestone.”
Thakur went on to question the opposition, “What is the contribution of the Gupkar Gang towards education, employment and infrastructure in the state? Why did they ignore higher education and the connectivity of J&K with the rest of India. The Gupkar Gang feared that development and giving democratic rights to people would empower them and they would be asked tough questions. The only development the Gupkar Gang did was beautification of their own palatial estates and personal wealth. While the children of J&K suffered because of lack of basic needs, the children of Gupkar Gang and Separatists lived lavish lifestyles abroad.”
