JAMMU, Dec 7: People on Monday welcomed senior BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain at Kahara area of Gundow Sub Division in Doda district with placards supporting the ongoing farmers' agitation across the country.
According to the details available with Early Times, the BJP leader was welcomed with "Justice for Farmers" placards and the National Flag.
Shahnawaz Hussain had arrived in Kahara area of Gundow Sub Division to take part in DDC poll campaigning.
A youth held the poster showing "Justice for Farmer" & "Central Govt Hosh Ma Aa." He showed it to the BJP leader while his cavalcade was on its way to participate in a political campaigning in the area.
Another youth held a placard along with a National Flag near the entrance gate at Thathri to get his protest in favour of ongoing farmers agitation registered.
Speaking on this occasion, Mohammad Saleem, a youth, while narrating the famous couplets of D. Alama Iqbal "Sarae Jahan Sey Acha Hindustan Hamara" said that he is labourer and what they eat today is all because of farmers.
"We want to give a message to Central Government that we are with farmers and their demand should be fulfilled."
It is pertinent to mention, that as many as seven borders connecting Delhi with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh are completely closed due to the ongoing farmers' protest for the last more than 10 days.
Farmers are protesting against the Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020. The three laws seek to open up farm trade.
Speaking on the side lines of a party function, BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain downplayed the farmers protest added that he had not seen any protest in Bihar or in UP.
He without explaining his remarks tried to give a message that the farmers protests are only confined to Punjab and Haryana. He said that they are known to the matter added that farmers are their own and they are within the right to make demands from us.
"Hum sey Nahi mangae aur kisse" concluded BJP leader Shanawaz Hussain.
