Kishtwar records 71% polling on 2 DDC constituencies

Jammu, Dec 7: Like in previous three phases, Kishtwar District today once again witnessed massive voter turn out on two DDC seats, two vacant Sarpanch seat and one Panch seat in Inderwal and Mughal Maidan DDC constituencies that goes for poll today during 4th phase of DDC Election. As per the details available with Early Times, the phase lV of the DDC and Panchayat By-Election 2020 which ended today peacefully here for the two District Development Council constituencies of district Kishtwar Viz Mughal maidan and Inderwal ended with recorded turnout of 70.32%.
Despite the uncertainty in weather conditions, the people from all walks of life came out in large numbers despite chilled and over cast weather with bone chilling cold to exercise their franchise amid administrative and security arrangements. Large number of voters were seen standing in queues outside the polling stations which also include equal number of females for casting their votes.
During the poll, District Panchayat Election Officer Kishtwar Ashok Kumar Sharma visited the various polling booths and personally inspected the logistics and security arrangement in these polling stations for effective ,transparent and fair conduct of the elections.
He was accompanied by SDM Chatroo Inderjeet Singh Parihar,Tehsildar Chatroo Suman Sharma ,Tehsildar Mughalmaidan Nayeem Iqbal Sheikh, BDO Mughal Maidan Arun Kumar Badyal, SHO Chatroo Sandeep Parihar Besides other officers.
The polling in this phase was held for 2 DDC constituencies ,1 sarpanch vacant seat and for 1 panch seat in Mughal maidan and 1 vacant Sarpanch seat in Inderwal Block.
The turnout for DDC polls was recorded at 70.69% in Inderwal and 69.98% in Mughalmaidan DDC Constituency besides the turnout for Sarpanch seat at Inderwal is 80.58% and for mughalmaidal is 74.77%.
Whereas highest poll percentage of 97.59% was recorded for vacant panch seat of Mughalmaidan.
With the successful completion of first 4 phases now the district administration headed by DPEO Kishtwar is bracing for the phase V of DDC and Panchayat by polls to be held on 10-12-2020 for two DDC constituencies of Palmar and Thakrie, for which Training of the staff has already been done and the dispatch of the polling staff will take place on 09-12-2020.
Meanwhile National Conference backed candidate won the election on the vacant Sarpanch seat from Inderwal block while Congress backed candidate won both vacant Sarpanch and Panch seat from Mughal Maidan block.
Both the parties celebrated the win of their party candidates in Sarpanch elections.
