Menstrual hygiene awareness Programme organized

Jammu, Dec 7: A sensitization workshop on “Menstrual health and hygiene was organized here on Sunday for underprivileged and downtrodden people of the Jammu Vicinity. The workshop was organised by People’s Hut Foundation in collaboration with Sangeli Saheli NGO. The event aimed to equip this "neglected group of the society with proper education on menstrual health and hygiene as they have the least access to health care services and education", the organizers’ said.
Dr. Rohit Koul, Founder Director and CEO of People’s Hut Foundation said “We are here to impart proper knowledge about menstrual Hygiene so that women can effectively take care of their personal and menstrual hygiene and In this journey towards menstrual equity, PHF and Sangini Saheli headed by Mrs. Priyal Bhardwaj has paved the way to not only help women meet their menstrual and reproductive health needs but even brought a revolutionary change in the mindset of men who joined the initiative with enthusiasm and bridge the gap of misinformation and hesitancy between them and their relative menstruators. He said, " NSS Volunteers Srishti Koul and Tanishq Koul who were also part of the organizing committee said they are confident that the knowledge these women will gain here on menstruation will help them to overcome taboos related to menstruation.
