Aao School Chalein initiative of Jammu School Education soon

JAMMU, Dec 11: The Directorate of School Education is all set to launch "Aao School Chalein" special enrolment and retention drive soon with the objective of enhancing enrolment vis-?-vis retention of students in all the Government institutions across Jammu division.
Sharing details, Director, School Education, Jammu, Anuradha Gupta here told UNI that "Aao School Chalein" is being launched to enhance enrolment for the new academic session beginning in Government Schools falling under winter zone of Jammu division.
She said, "In view of the beginning of forthcoming session in winter zone of Jammu Division, the Directorate is launching a special Enrolment and Retention Drive "Aao School Chalein" to be conducted under the supervision of CEOs of the concerned Districts across all the villages, feeding habitations nearby catchment areas of the Government Schools."
The Director said that the objectives of the programme will be the initiatives to enhance enrollment in all Government Schools (Primary, Under Primary, High and Higher Secondary Schools), including Pre-Primary sections to be started in Government Schools already running Primary sections.
"Strengthening of existing pre-schooling by fresh enrolment of age appropriate Children in well established Pre-Primary sections in Govt. School, special drive will be conducted for out of school children, drop outs and Children With Special Needs (CWSN)," she said adding that moreover special drive will also be launched for enrolment in residential schools for Girls of Class 6th, 7th and 8th i.e KGBVs and registering Girls of secondary and Higher Secondary levels in Residential Girls Hostels.
The Director further said that special focus will also be laid through "Mission Imtihan," on Learning Outcomes among students through special Foundation Classes while well established Pre-Primary sections with Play-way Learning Material for younger kids will also be part of the programme, adding, "students will also be prepared for Board, Scholarship and other competitive exams."
Highlighting other basic initiatives taken under "Aao School Chalein", she said that free winter Schooling will be comprised of Super 50 coaching classes, Remedial teaching for weak students, medium of Instruction is English, options for regional Languages, vocational Trades for Vocational Education in Higher Secondary Schools, providing assured minimum facilities (Electricity, Drinking Water and Toilets), neat, clean, polythene free environment through segregation; recycling of waste material, encouraging students for Sports; Physical activities under various programmes like Khelo India; Fit India, self defence training to Girls at Under primary Level, adolescent Programmes under Girls Empowerment, free health checkups, are few to be named.
The strategy behind this initiative, she said will be mobilization of community about the value and importance of education, incentives and scholarship schemes available to the students enrolled in Government Schools, awareness among the parents about the RTE entitlements and facilities, awareness among the Parents, SMC Members about the Quality Initiatives being implemented by the Directorate of School Education, Jammu and also the Quality Interventions to be highlighted with well designed class wise Academic Calendar supported with calendar for counseling cultural and other co curricular activities.
