Secy RDD reviews progress on 14th FC, People’s Plan Campaign

JAMMU, Dec 11: Secretary, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Sheetal Nanda, today chaired an online meeting to review the financial and physical progress on works taken up under the 14th Finance Commission.
Secretary was apprised of the district wise status of works taken up, activities completed and geo-tagged under the programme.
It was informed that all 4000 panchayats have uploaded their plans on the e-gram swaraj portal.
While appreciating the considerable improvement shown by districts in various indicators, Secretary exhorted upon the ACDs and DPOs to further gear up the pace of works in their respective districts to achieve the set targets. She also stressed on close monitoring of ongoing works to ensure quality and adherence to timelines.
Nanda laid emphasis on improving overall performance, expenditure percentage and other parameters. She instructed the concerned officers to upload all requisite documents online and ensure 100 geo-tagging of completed works thereby ensuring transparency and accountability in the system. She called for strict action against those officers who will not show significant improvement in their performances in the next 10 days.
While reviewing progress on several parameters of People’s Plan Campaign (PPC), Secretary instructed to complete the pendency of various indicators at the earliest and start the uploading of plans for 2021-22 by all panchayats on the e-gram swaraj portal.
She also directed the DPOs to freeze the data under Mission Antyodaya and scrutinize the photographs of Gram Sabhas and Public Information Boards (PIBs) being uploaded on the portal.
Nanda also reviewed the submission of nominations by Panchayats for Panchayat Awards and their freezing by Block and District level Committees. Nearly, 800 nominations have been received till date in the UT.
