BGSBU Celebrates 17th Foundation Day

Jammu, Dec 15: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University celebrated 17th foundation with great fervor and joy by organizing an impressive function in the University Conference Hall.Prof.Iqbal Parwez,Dean Academic Affairs was Chief Guest on the ocassion. Congratulating BGSBU fraternity on 17th foundation day of the varisty, Prof.Iqbal said that nestled in the foothills of mighty Pirpanchaal, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University a premier seat of learning is entering in the 18th year of its foundation. Terming 15th December as a golden day in the chronicles of BGSBU, he said that BGSB University inherits a glorious past and has a bright future. Prof. Iqbal said that this day reminds us the purpose of our existence, the success story so far and the road ahead. Prof. Iqbal mentioned that Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University is determined enough to continue its role in nation building and paving a way towards change through education and an embodiment of principles of educational excellence, freedom of thought and plurality. On the ocassion Prof Iqbal highlighted various initiatives of the University for developing BGSBU as a centre for excellence in teaching and research.On the ocassion a colorful cultural program was presented by the students and faculty of the University. Those who were presented on the occasion included Prof. G. M.Malik, Dean of students, Prof. Naseem Ahmed, Prof. Asif Hussain, Heads of various departments, Faculty members, scholars and students of the University. Mohd.Ishaq, Registrar of the University proposed the vote of thanks. Proceedings of the event were conducted by Dr.Shams Kamaal.
