MENDHAR, Dec 15: Jammu, Dec 15 Police on Tuesday booked two persons for destroying polling material inside the booth in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Police here said that an application was received by Gursai Police Station from presiding officer namely Mohammad Ismael of polling station Keri of DDC constituency Balakot duly marked by SSP Poonch that on December 13, 2020 in DDC election at GHS Keri, two persons namely Gafoor Ahmad, polling agent of Rabia Younis khan and Wahidullha Khan, polling agent of Saima Khan (independent candidates), attacked on the polling staff.
"The agents also snatched the ballot papers in order to cast bogus votes and also tore out the ballot paper and other polling material and later they fled away from the spot," police said.
However, a case was registered on these allegations and investigation has been initiated, police added. |
