JPDCL disconnects power supply of industrial defaulters having arrears of more than Rs 20 lakhs

JAMMU, Dec 15: Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) Gangyal under the directions of MD JPDCL Yasha Mudgal and Chief Engineer Distribution Gurmeet Singh, led by PD Singh Executive Engineer, Electric Division-II, Gandhi Nagar and AEE, Gangyal Nitin Mahajan carried out drive to disconnect connections of wilful defaulters of PDD whose pending arrears are more than Rs 20 Lakhs . During the drive 2 industrial connections at Gangyal Jammu were disconnected and the pending arrears of these two industrial units included S K Enterprises and Shree Chemicals.
As per official spokesman, in continuation to daily disconnection drive, the Enforcement Team headed by Executive Engineer along with Assistant Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer, Feeder Managers and other field staff conducted inspections in different sections of Electric Sub Division Gangyal and apprised the Industrial Consumers that J&K Government has already waived off 50% demand charges of the industrial and commercial consumers for the year 2020-21, so the pending arrears should be immediately cleared. The readings of more than 13 industrial units were randomly checked to stop Power theft.
Some of the big Industrial houses also have huge pending arrears and strict action shall be taken against those who fail to clear their dues in next few days. Owners of the Industries were sensitised towards paying electricity bills so that the power deficit could be reduced.
Those who participated in the drive include Nitin Mahajan, Assistant Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer Rajesh Kumar, Junior Engineer Hiteshwar Sood and other field Staff.
