NPP condemns assault on Manju Singh
12/19/2020 11:36:13 PM
Early Times Report
RAMNAGAR, Dec 19: "Despite repeated attempts by BJP goons to sabotage the polls in District Udhampur, the local administration continued to shelter the criminal elements owing allegiance to the Saffron party for reasons best known. While the JKNPP workers were harassed, humiliated, attacked, manhandled and abused on several occasions, the BJP hooligans were allowed to go scot free despite repeated complaints against them.
And, whereas the Panthers Party workers were booked by the police on frivolous grounds, the BJP leaders and workers were granted immunity despite proven misconduct and criminal conduct on their part. It's a case of blaming and booking the victims and absolving the criminals in District Udhampur which need due cognizance of Lt. Governor for an early and assumed action against the culprits by breaking the BJP-officers nexus in the district" This was stated by Harsh Dev Singh while addressing a press conference in Udhampur today along with Manju Singh State General Secretary and Son Raj Pratap Singh.
Making a mention of today's episode, Harsh Dev Singh said that Sarpanch Bhugtaran, who was tutored by some BJP leaders prevented him (Harsh Dev), wife Manju Singh and Son Raj Pratap Singh from entering the polling booth. And when he failed in doing so, he hurled filthy abuses upon Manju Singh using highly derogatory language and tried to assault the family. The said Prikshit Singh later admitted that he had abused Manju Singh and used filthy language against her which is duly recorded and video-graphed. "No husband with self respect can listen to abuses being hurled upon his wife in the open with the culprit admitting openly that he had the right to abuse a lady as he was a BJP leader. Seeking action against the culprit, Singh sought high level probe into the BJP - officers nexus in Udhampur District which was responsible for multifarious attacks on Panthers leaders and workers with none to take cognizance.
