EARLY TIMES REPORT

UDHAMPUR, Dec 20: While a jawan of Indian army is guarding Indian borders in Arunachal Pradesh with utmost dedication towards the nation, his wife is cheated by a man of her hard earned money amounting to Rs 11 lakh. Three years back Nisha Rani, wife of army jawan Ravi Kumar bought one kanal land under khasra no. 900 situated at Londana village of Udhampur from one Jyoti Kumar @ Rs 14 lakh and paid Rs 11 lakh in two installments (Rs 2 lakh and Rs 9 lakh respectively) through bank as a signing amount while it was agreed to pay the balance Rs 3 lakh at the time of transferring the land on her name. The lady even got possession of the one kanal of the land and fixed pickets in presence of concerned revenue officials.
All of a sudden the seller Jyoti Kumar started asking for the balance Rs 3 lakh even without transferring the land on the name of Nisha.
However, the purchaser of the land did not agree to this and instead asked him to firstly transfer the land in her name but he forcibly took the occupation of the land and removed the boundary pickets fixed by her and started doing cultivation there.
The beleaguered Nisha approached Police who swung into action and lifted Jyoti Kumar and tried to return the possession of said land in favour of Nisha Rani but till date nothing substantial materialized even as the seller (Jyoti) is still in police custody. Meanwhile, the lady is not at all pleased with the inordinate delay in the final settlement of the case and wants possession of the land or return of her Rs 11 lakh with interest. She also claimed that Jyoti Kumar threatened her with dire consequences if she tells anything with anyone about the land.
The Patwari and the local Sarpanch of Londana, Sajaad Chandail said that Jyoti Kumar was playing truant with the lady after selling the land to her.
