EARLY TIMES REPORT

RAJOURI, Dec 24: Shazia Kousar, elected member of District Development Council (DDC) from Budhal Old-A Block in Rajouri district, who defeated her maternal aunt in the elections today said that she would work for rights and justice of the people of her constituency. Sister-in-law of senior journalist Zafar Choudhary and IAS officer Dr Shahid Choudhary, the newly elected public representative Shazia accompanied by her husband Javed Iqbal, today held an interaction with the media at Rajouri and shared her future planning for the development of her constituency. “Basic requirements of the public like good road connectivity, clean drinking water, electricity, better health care facilities and better education in my constituency will be my priority”, she said, adding that with the help of local public, who supported and voted for her, a political monopoly of few people has come to an end in Budhal area. “This was an election between Aam Aadmi and Khaas Aadmi, however, people voted against Khaas Aadmi”, said Kousar’s husband Javed Iqbal, adding that the election was for the empowerment of common man.
While Kousar said, “We fought elections on the basic issues of people rather than the agenda of religious hatred. People of 22 Panchayats showed trust in us because we provided an alternative to the corrupt and lethargic existing political figures.”
“I visited each and every village personally and people provided me immense love and showed faith in my stands for human rights, justice and peace”, Javed said.
He promised the public of Budhal Old-A to end the mafia and rolling out new era of development for the people.
