Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 24: A senior BJP leader from Poonch is under scanner for allegedly working overtime to ensure defeat of party’s own candidates in Poonch.
It was all due ‘efforts’ to this leader, who is a blue-eyed boy of some Jammu based senior leaders- that BJP failed to open its account in Poonch. Except for two seats, where BJP candidates were runner-ups, party failed to get respectable votes in the remaining twelve constituencies- thanks to the misdeeds of this leader.
BJP was sure to win at-least two District Development Councils (DDCs) seats from Poonch district but this leader, who never allowed any other workers or leader to grow in the party, ensure defeat of own party candidates to maintain his own dominance in the party.
Reliable sources said that this leader, who is infamous for fulfilling all types of ‘desires’ of some Jammu based senior leaders, allegedly supported candidates of ‘Gupkar Alliance’. Two BJP candidates namely Sharish Rafiq from 10 NSSB constituency and Mohammad Rafiq from Poonch constituency, were in comfortable position to win their respective seats but this senior ‘hardcore’ BJP leader hatched conspiracy to ensure defeat of their own candidates.
“This self-styled leader of Poonch never allowed any mass base leader to join BJP because he and his group want to maintain their control over the party in Poonch”, reliable sources said and added that it was all due this self-central leader that BJP had earlier lost many mass base Muslim leaders who were ready to join the party.
