SUB Division Marh felicitates octogenarian farmers

Jammu, Dec 24: To commemorate the birth anniversary of nation's fifth Prime Minister Ch. Charan Singh , National Kissan Diwas was celebrated by the SUB Division MARH Deptt. Of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare in an impressive function held at BAKSHI RESORTS POUNICHAK following all the SOP's of COVID -19. The program was organised on the directions of Director Agriculture & FW Jammu Inder Jeet , and presided over by Jt Director Agriculture (Extn) Jammu Dr. B.K. Chandan. Besides large number of farmers and officers present on the occasion were SDAO MARH DR. ASHWANI JOJRA, SMS (SDL) DR. VIJAY JOHAR and all the Panchayat Officers of Zone Pounichak.
On this event octogenarian farmers namely PARAS RAM of Bhadrore, DWARKA NATH of Pounichak and Master Prem Saini of Village Sarora were Chief Guests, all touching 80 yrs of age and actively involved in farming while BDC Chairman Surinder Kumar was the Guest of Honour. These farmers were felicitated by the SUB DIVISION MARH on this occasion by presenting shawls and garlands.
While addressing the gathering BDC chairman lauded the role of the Deptt. Of Agriculture in general and SDAO MARH Dr Ashwani Jojra in particular for organizing such an impressive event for the first time in the history of Agriculture on KISAN DIVAS He also appreciated the staff of the Agriculture Deptt. for their strenous efforts in upliftment of the farming community. SDAO MARH administered the Oath of integrity & diligent working to the participants for making Aatamnirbhar Bharat a reality.
Plant health Clinic was also set up at the venue to provide on spot diagnosis & remedial measures for pests and diseases to minimize the crop losses. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Vijay Johar.
