DLSA Samba organises Orientation prog on 'civil and criminal procedure codes'

SAMBA, Dec 28: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Samba today organised an Orientation Programme on the topic "Procedure of issuance and service of Process under Civil and Criminal Procedure Codes" here at District Court Complex, Nandini Hills for the benefit of Court Staff including the process serving agency.
The programme was attended by Judicial Officers, staff of all cadres of Courts of District Samba, process servers, Para Legal Volunteers and others.
Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Mohammad Akram Chowdhary, in his opening remarks, highlighted the importance of updation of knowledge with regard to the procedure envisaged on the Code of Civil Procedure and Code of Criminal Procedure particularly after the introduction of the Central Procedural Codes in the UT of J&K.
He underlined that the Court clerks must thoroughly understand and follow the procedural mandate for the smooth functioning of the Courts and must observed the issuance and service of summons in timely and proper manner as their sacrosanct duty for the speedy disposal of cases.
The attendees were oriented through Audio Visual mode by power point presentation.
Swati Gupta, (Sub-Judge), Secretary, DLSA, Samba was the resource person, who deliberated on the various aspects of the topic of the Orientation programme and delved into the concept of summons, purpose, and mode of service. The resource person also discussed the concept of misconduct and neglect in the performance of duties under the provisions of law and urged the staff to ensure proper performance of duties.
The participants enthusiastically participated in the programme which included a lively interactive session. The queries of the participants were answered satisfactorily by the panel of Officers. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks.
