Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 28: Hundreds of displaced employees from Kashmir Valley have are being deprived of cash in lieu after attaining their superannuation by the J&K Government.
Despite the directives of Union Home Ministry to settle the issue with submitting an Action Taken Report (ATR) to GoI last year no action has been taken by UT Government in this regard.
This has added to the woes of displaced employees and also compounded their problems further. According to displaced employees representatives many deputations have called on the higher ups both in Union Government in this regard including former LG as well as Union Minister but the issue remains unsettled still.
The displaced employees through their latest representation to Government has demanded settlement of issue on humanitarian basis as depriving the hapless employees of the cash in lieu benefits is a grave injustice to these hapless employees.
While strongly arguing in support of their demand the representatives of displaced employees said that the displaced employees are subjected to grave injustice after being deprived of the in situ benefit right from 1990.
They while challenging the decision said the Valley based nin migrant employees belonging to majority community have been given if all benefits even though skipped the offices during long duration hartals and bands as well as civil curfews but the same anology was not applied to displaced employees who were forced to flee from Valley by terrorists and separatists on the behest of Pakistan.
The employees representatives while taking up issue with Union Government have sought their immediate intervention in the matter and settlement of the issue.
