DSEJ hosts webinar on NCERT National Award for Innovation 2020

JAMMU, Dec 28: To acquaint the teachers of Jammu and Kashmir with various low cost innovations and ideas which can be used in teaching, learning as well as in day to day life, Directorate of School Education Jammu organised a webinar on NCERT National Award for Innovation- 2020.
The webinar, meant also to guide and educate teachers about the procedure and formalities related to applying for 2020 National Award for Innovation, was organised in collaboration with J&K chapter of National Council of Teacher Scientists and APJ Abdul Kalam National Council of young Scientists.
Speaking on the occasion, Director SEJ, Anuradha Gupta said that many teachers, working with the Directorate of School Education Jammu, use innovative methods of teaching, learning as well as mental, physical and personality development of students and it was an opportune platform for them to showcase themselves while gaining experience and exposure at the same time.
“Any innovation or an idea becomes useful and important only when it gets implemented properly and is used for the benefit of the student and teaching community", she added.
Lauding the efforts of Dr. Chandermauli Joshi, Chairman NCTS and Mr. Sandip Patil, National Secretary NCTS, Anuradha Guotaguta assured whole hearted support and cooperation for similar initiatives in future as well.
Dr. B.K. Tyagi, Scientist & Principal Scientific officer Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi threw light on various types of innovation that can be incorporated in teaching-learning and day to day life in his presentation.
Ajay Kale, the key resource person for the webinar discussed the guidelines and dos and don’ts to be taken into account while applying for such awards.
The event was coordinated by Kuldeep Gupta, Govind Sharma,Tajinder Singh and Sandip Patil.
