| | National Road Safety Month commences in Reasi | |

REASI, Jan 18: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Reasi Rajinder Sharma today inaugurated the month long Road Safety awareness programme from DC office complex. ADC Reasi speaking on The occasion said that enforcement of traffic regulations and awareness regarding road safety measures is essential for preventing road accidents.
Highlighting the importance of National Road Safety Week, ADC Reasi said that it is very much important that awareness programmes are organized with active involvement of youth and school children to prevent such accidents.
Later, the ADC Reasi Rajinder Sharma and ARTO Reasi SSP Rajesh Gupta flagged off the month-long traffic awareness programme.
Speaking on the occasion, ARTO Reasi, Rajesh Gupta said that lack of awareness and over speeding are the main causes of accidents. He said that due to this road safety month the public will benefit immensely as different programmes will be held like health checkups for drivers, distribution of pamphlets, walkathon, blood donation camps etc to sensitize the public about Road Safety measures.
Chief Education Officer Reasi, District Horticulture Officer Reasi besides other district officers and general public in large numbers were also present on the occasion.
