EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, Jan 22: An Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC) department working in a sub-division in this district is trampling over the service rules while not attending to his duties regularly thus causing problems to the people as a whole. Sources told Early Times that the AEE seldom attends to his duty at the office thus causing trouble to the people and the contractors. The contractors are more disappointed since the AEE does not visit the sites and as such no demarcation is taken up despite the fact that same is important before any work is carried out. "The contractors visit the office of AEE frequently so that demarcation is taken up but return dejected since the AEE does not attend to his duties regularly. The AEE comes to the office once or twice in a month and on rest of days he stays put at his home," said sources. Sources said that a contractor got a contract of many crores adding that the contractor is worried over the contract since neither the AEE nor the Junior Engineer (JE) of I&FC have visited the site for demarcation. The contractor is at loss as when the work would be started and would he be able to complete the work on time. When contacted the concerned AEE told Early Times that he is not bound to answer any question of the media since he is not at their beck and call. The AEE said that he is also not entitled to any questioning from public representatives like the Sarpanchs and Panchs. Commissioner Secretary I&FC M Raju told Early Times that he will take stern action against the AEE and it would be ensured that he attends to his duties regularly.
