1/31/2021 10:55:59 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Jan 31: A delegation of PHDCCI, Jammu Chapter led by its chairman Rahul Sahai met with Riten K Singh, Executive Director NHIDCL here today in his office.
The PHDCCI delegation thanked Riten Kumar Singh, Executive Director NHIDCL for getting approval of extension of Flyover of Jammu-Akhnoor highway’s phase 1 from Canal Head to 4th Tawi Bridge on PHDCCI’s demand , Singh apprised the delegation that extension is approved and work will start soon after the land acquisition is done in coming months.
Singh shared complete details of the flyover extension and said that this will decongest the main traffic areas of Jammu-Akhnoor Road like Canal Head, Talab Tillo road, Bhagwati Nagar road and traffic to Akhnoor will be smooth and will land at Muthi directly from 4th Tawi Bridge. Singh also shared the design which will lead to minimum land acquisition.
Rahul Sahai briefed Riten Kumar Singh about issues faced by members of PHDCCI and general public at large and requested for early resolution.
The issues discussed were construction of Cycling Track from Canal Head to Muthi on the right side of canal, construction of drainage and sewerage at Canal Road along with the road widening in coordination with UEED, reallocation of electric poles, street lighting at Akhnoor Road, lack of direction signage at the road, green walkway at the right side of the canal of Jammu Akhnoor Road and timely completion of the project.
Kuldeep Gupta, co-chairman PHDCCI highlighted issue of non-motorable road even after the pillars are raised for smooth movement of traffic and requested Executive Director to construct motorable road at the earliest from Bakshi Nagar crossing till Paloura.
Vikrant Kuthiala, former chairman PHDCCI highlighted issue of unlawful activities getting increased because of darkness and non-availability of street lights on Akhnoor Road and requested for immediate resolution by installing street lights.
